Paul F Tew FCA

Paul qualified as a chartered Accountant in 1985, joined Gibbons in 1986 and became a partner in the firm in 1989. Paul trained in general practice in Cheshire, in particular farming, later moving to a large firm environment for three years prior to joining Gibbons.
Paul is a general practitioner with expertise in business start ups, employment status and advising “one man” personal service companies.
He also has a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, hotels and leisure businesses and can assist in most business sectors both with short and long term tax planning issues. His years of experience allow him to support and assist with all aspects of Inland Revenue enquiries and reviews.

Eric Taylor BSc FCA

Eric joined Gibbons in 1982. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986 and became a partner in the firm in 1991.
Eric is a Senior Statutory Auditor and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Audit Faculty. In this role he is responsible for a number of large audits covering a wide variety of businesses.
In his role as a general practitioner Eric has a particular interest in investment properties, being either domestic 'buy to let' or commercial property investments. He also has experience in the administration of Estates and Probate matters together with the related Inheritance Tax issues. Eric is also involved in all internal IT matters of the firm and has knowledge of various accounting software packages.

Bryan C Sheard BA FCA

Bryan joined Gibbons, Maryport office after completing a degree in Accountancy in 1983 and subsequently qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986. After several years working at Maryport office Bryan became a partner in 1992. Bryan is a general practitioner acting for small and medium sized businesses across West Cumbria.
Bryan has specialist knowledge acting for: the care sector, clubs and associations, farming and rural community, the construction industry, the retail sector, and personal service companies.

Mark J Stanger FCA

Mark joined Gibbons as a trainee in 1986 and became a partner in 1995. During his time with us he has built long term relationships with a wide range of clients and has considerable experience in farming, tourist related businesses and has many clients with property and construction based activities.
Mark advises many of our larger clients on taxation matters and believes that simple solutions are usually the best ones.
Mark is passionate about delivering a quality service to his client portfolio which continues to grow as a result of client recommendations.

Russell J Thwaites FCA

Russell joined Gibbons as a trainee chartered accountant in 1991, qualified in 1998 and became a partner in the firm in 2002. Based in our Lakeland office, Russell advises a wide range of clients from small owner managed businesses to companies with a turnover of several million pounds and has considerable experience in acting for businesses operating within the construction and property industries, hotels, farms and the agricultural sector, the retail sector and personal service companies.
As a general practitioner with a diverse portfolio of clients, Russell is able to provide business and tax planning advice to businesses in almost all sectors of the economy.

Lee H Dixon BSc FCA CTA

Lee joined Gibbons in 1989 and became a Partner in 2003. Lee is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor and acts for a wide variety of local based businesses.
Lee has considerable experience in business start-ups, personal service companies and employment status matters.
Lee also has a keen interest and a wide experience in helping individuals and family businesses plan strategies to minimise their capital gains tax and inheritance tax liabilities.

Tony Hindmoor FCA
Tony joined Gibbons in 1988 as a trainee chartered accountant, qualified in 1993 and became a partner in the firm in 2003.
Tony is a general practitioner acting for a wide range of businesses including pharmacies, farming and rural community, personal service companies, construction industry, charities and the leisure sector including caravan sites, hotels and the licensed trade.

Gary Carty BA FCA

Gary joined Gibbons in 1992 as a trainee chartered accountant and qualified in 1996. After gaining several years experience in audit and accountancy Gary became a partner in the firm in 2003.
Gary is a general practitioner, acting for a range of small businesses, and is a statutory auditor. Gary specialises in statutory audits, personal service companies, employment status matters and is our partner in Workington specialising in the healthcare sector.
Gary also holds the ICAEW’s Diploma in Charity Accounting and provides advice to the charity sector as well as providing independent examinations and audits.
Gary has a particular interest in acting for businesses that are facing financial challenges and helping the client survive, adapt and progress.
